United States of Anxiety

In the lead up to the 2018 midterms, I’ve been reporting for the WNYC podcast, The United States of Anxiety hosted by Kai Wright. The focus of this season is gender + power + midterms.

  • My story, Episode 1: The Dream Was Not Mine, starts the season off and focuses on domestic abuse, the White House and Jennifer Willoughby, a woman who found herself accidentally in the news, and is now using her 15 minutes to speak out about domestic abuse.   • We’ve also been collaborating with ProPublica and their ad tracker to look at how candidates are using gender to target voters.
  • I also reported a story about a group of progressive, Texan women who are organizing — in secret — out of fear of retaliation from their neighbors – Episode 7: The Women of Texas’s Secret Resistance
